习近平访问新加坡

（联合早报网讯）由我国培植的一株生气蓬勃、可常年开花的新胡姬花品种，以中国国家主席习近平伉俪两人的名字命名，纪念习近平此次前来新加坡进行国事访问。

新花种取名为“习近平—彭丽媛兰花”（Papilionanda Xi Jinping-Peng Liyuan），今天中午在习近平伉俪的见证下，于新加坡植物园举行正式的胡姬花命名仪式。我国总理李显龙伉俪也在场。

根据国家公园局的资料，这个新混种胡姬花生气蓬勃、可常年开花（free-flowering），生长的花枝坚韧垂直，而且每个花枝可生长至40公分长，花朵可达七朵，每朵约7.5公分宽。

“习近平—彭丽媛兰花”的颜色为浅粉红色，并带有小红点。花朵上的唇瓣为橘红色，带有深红色的斑纹，唇瓣中心为橘黄色。

协助培育胡姬花的重任落在国家公园局属下的国家胡姬园（National Orchid Garden）团队身上。混种胡姬花（hybrid orchids）的培植过程非常漫长，从授粉到开花一般需要两年到六年时间。

国家胡姬园所培植准备命名的胡姬花，分为贵宾胡姬花和名人胡姬花两大类，前者均以外国领袖和政要命名，后者则包括各国影视明星。至今，已正式注册的的贵宾胡姬花有约200种。（联合早报记者：叶伟强）

A vigorous and free-flowering hybrid, Papilionanda Xi Jinping-Peng Liyuan is named in honour of President Xi and the First Lady. This orchid produces strong and upright flower sprays, which are capable of reaching about 40 cm long and bear about 7 flowers each. The petals are light pink with fine red spots, which are more intense on the lateral sepals. Each bloom is complemented by a prominent lip that is orangey red with dark red markings and an orangey yellow centre.-----National Park
